Liver fluke infestation: an underestimated disease?

The liver fluke (Fasciola hepatica) is a parasite commonly infesting domestic ruminants, causing significant economic losses, as well as some wild herbivores like nutria and deer. This infestation is much less common in horses, and its impact on equine health is still poorly understood.
